The NFL Draft is wrapping up this weekend and already we’ve had some pretty notable names come off the board and get drafted by teams who targeted them. But not every team that targets a prospect gets him and the Washington Redskins are a testament to that.

According to Redskins radio man Chris Russell, the Redskins not only targeted Auburn’s Tre Mason but they wanted West Virginia’s Charles Sims and ended up missing out on both prospects.

Sims landed in Tampa Bay first and then the St. Louis Rams scooped up Tre Mason later on in the evening. Washington has made some questionable draft decisions in the past, and the lack of picks on the second day ended up coming back to bite them when they targeted speedy running backs to add to the roster.
