The San Diego Padres selected football star Johnny Manziel with the 837th pick in the 2014 MLB Draft. A picture posted by Padres pitcher Joe Wieland shows the Padres are looking forward to Johnny Football showing up at Spring Training next year:

The selection of Johnny Manziel is pure genius by the Padres front office.

Everyone in the sports world knows about this, and don’t tell me this move didn’t charge up the Padres so much so that they had an awesome comeback win yesterday. The Padres had something extra going for them last night, call it Johnny Baseball.

At the very least, Manziel’s selection got plenty of attention in the sports world.
