NBA Rumors: Portland Trail Blazers interested in P.J. Tucker, Anthony Morrow

The Portland Trail Blazers had a fantastic 2013-2014 season.

The Blazers finished with a record of 54-28, tied for fourth-best in the league. They then upset the Houston Rockets in the first round of the playoffs before falling to the San Antonio Spurs. The Blazers have two stars in power forward LaMarcus Aldridge and point guard Damian Lillard and have an excellent supporting cast.

There Blazers don’t have money to spend this offseason, but still need to add a few pieces.

Jabari Davis of Basketball Insiders believes Phoenix Suns’ wing P.J. Tucker and New Orleans Pelicans sharp-shooter Anthony Morrow would be good fits for the Trail Blazers.

"Hey GM, thanks for joining this week. That was my main concern for them throughout the second half of the season. It didn’t hurt them vs. the Rockets, but adding another couple contributors could really take them to the next level. I think a couple guys like PJ Tucker and Anthony Morrow could definitely help. Tucker is a tough, hard-nosed perimeter defender that every team could use, while Morrow could add another reliable shooter into the mix off the bench. They also need Meyers Leonard and Will Batum to each take the next step in terms of their development. Adding a couple pieces like that and improving from within could vault the Blazers from the scrappy “feel-good” bunch into a serious threat over the course of one summer."

Tucker averaged 9.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.7 assists and 1.4 steals per game while shooting 43.1% from the field, 38.7% from beyond the arc and 77.6% from the free throw line. Morrow went for 8.4 points and 1.8 rebounds per game while shooting 45.8% from the field, 45.1% from three and 82.8% from the free throw line.
