The Los Angeles Dodgers just can’t get a break this season. In this case however, a break is the last thing they’re looking for as top prospect Joc Pederson was removed from his Tuesday game with an apparent shoulder injury, though details on the injury are few and far between.

More from Los Angeles Dodgers

Peterson has been a beast in the Dodgers’ minor league system and there was hope among fans that he’d hopefully see the Major League’s at some point this season, hopefully before August. Of course, that would likely need a trade given the Los Angeles Dodgers abundance of outfielders though that won’t be easy given the albatross contracts held by Matt Kemp, Andre Ethier and Carl Crawford.

Of course, the injury to Pederson could derail the idea of Pederson coming up in the near future regardless as the organization is likely to be extremely cautious with one of their top prospects and shoulder injuries do tend to be nagging in nature.

Hopefully it’s nothing more than a bruise or a jam and Pederson didn’t suffer any damage that will keep him out of the lineup for an extended period of time (or delay his eventual Los Angeles Dodgers debut). For now, we await word on the severity of the injury which he suffered after diving for a ball in the outfield.
