NBA Rumors: Boston Celtics may trade Rajon Rondo, Jeff Green
By Bryan Rose
The Boston Celtics have made no secret about their desire to trade the No. 6 pick in the 2014 NBA Draft but given the amount of teams also willing to trade their selection, it seems as if the market has become a bit watered down.

Wanting to expedite a return to the postseason, the Celtics were said to be looking to pair a veteran talent or two alongside Rajon Rondo and their current roster. However, if they’re unable to secure a trade and opt to use their No. 6 pick, it’s the belief of ESPN’s Chad Ford that the Boston Celtics will attempt to trade their veteran players this Summer.
That list includes All-Star point guard Rajon Rondo and forward Jeff Green as Ford noted in his weekly chat.
“Nothing ‘cools’ for Danny Ainge. They are talking with everyone. I think if they keep the picks, they probably move Rondo and Jeff Green this summer,” says Ford. If they can swap the picks for talented veterans, they’d do that. I think it’s 24 hours before the draft and the best offers will start to roll in. I expect the Celtics will be as active as any team in the league.”
Just yesterday there was noise suggesting the Sacramento Kings were interested in trading for Rajon Rondo, however that appeared to be based on their potential acquisition of Josh Smith which did not go through. This isn’t the first we’ve heard of the Boston Celtics willingness to trade Rajon Rondo and it’s unlikely to be the last.
