UCLA picked up their seventh commitment for the 2015 class after three-star running back recruit, T.J. Simmons (Lakeland, Fla. Lakeland Christian School) announced he is joining the Bruins via Twitter.

The 5-11.5, 195-pound Simmons is the nation’s No. 430 ranked player regardless of position, the No. 34 ranked running back and No. 57 ranked player in the state of Florida, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

Simmons named UCLA his leader on May 19 and picked the Bruins over offers from Florida, Ohio State, Notre Dame and Wisconsin, among others.

He has scheduled to take an official visit to Westwood on the weekend of Oct. 3 when the Bruins host the Utah Utes. It remains to be seen at the moment if Simmons will take any other visits, unofficial or otherwise, between now and signing day in February of 2015, but it may be smart to continue recruiting Simmons in the interim.

Simmons joins a class that has been dominated by offensive players in Jim Mora’s 2015 class with the nation’s No. 5 overall recruit and five-star quarterback Josh Rosen serving as the headliner of the group.

Other players in the class include, four-star tight end Aliz’e Jones, four-star guard Tevita Halalilo, four-star wide receiver L.J. Reed, three-star inside linebacker Victor Alexander and three-star running back Bolu Olorunfunmi.

With today’s addition of Simmons, UCLA now owns the nation’s No. 36 class and the No. 5 class in the Pac-12 according to the 247Sports team rankings.
