It’s been a pretty active few months for the Phoenix Suns who may have secured themselves the steal of the 2014 offseason with the signing of Isaiah Thomas. But it doesn’t sound like they’re done adding pieces as according to Jordan Schultz of The Huffington Post and NBC Sports Radio, the Suns are interested in a sign-and-trade deal involving Greg Monroe of the Detroit Pistons.

More from Detroit Pistons

There has clearly been a bit of disconnect between Greg Monroe and the Pistons considering he’s yet to sign and there have been alleged failed sign-and-trade scenarios involving the power forward. Clearly, the Pistons are at least open to the idea of moving Greg Monroe if need be and it’s possible the Suns may smell blood in the water. That’s why the team is said to be considering acquiring Greg Monroe in a sign-and-trade scenario with the Pistons according to Schultz.

As noted the Phoenix Suns could still re-sign Eric Bledsoe and bring in Greg Monroe which would give them a very solid roster, though it’s tough to imagine them competing against the Western Conference powerhouse franchises like the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Still, there aren’t many opportunities to snag a young big man as talented as Greg Monroe, so it’s completely understandable as to why the Phoenix Suns are showing interest in the former Georgetown product.

In regards to the Pistons, it’s not known what type of return they’d be looking at though with a Phoenix roster full of young talent, they’d certainly be able to nab themselves a considerable haul in the proposed deal.
