The Los Angeles Dodgers are looking at trades that they could make this summer to bolster their lineup in a way that makes them true World Series contenders, but they’re not going to be bending over backwards to get a deal done.

More from Los Angeles Dodgers

Los Angeles has already been rumored in the David Price sweepstakes, if only briefly, but are now the center of attention in Jon Lester trade rumors with the Boston Red Sox.

According to Mark Saxon of ESPN Los Angeles, unlike the Giants who have already made trades and may make more, the Dodgers may be involved in trade rumors leading up to the deadline but they might not even make a deal when all is said and done.

"The Giants have made the only two moves so far, with general manager Brian Sabean scooping up Jake Peavy from the Boston Red Sox for a couple of pitching prospects, and Dan Uggla from the Atlanta Braves’ discard pile. Dodgers general manager Ned Colletti admitted Saturday that talks hadn’t gotten far off the ground and said, “You know what? We may not do anything.”"

This isn’t the first time we’ve heard this from the Dodgers and it likely won’t be the last either. The bottom line is that there are indeed ways the Dodgers can improve their roster through a trade but they will likely be looking at what they have already before blowing things up in a trade that could derail their season.
