Earlier this year, 50 United States Senators sent a letter urging the Washington Redskins to change their name. Now another notable politician, Hillary Clinton, has spoke out about the Redskins name in an interview with Fusion TV’s Jorge Ramos.

“I think it’s insensitive. I think there’s no reason for it to continue as the name of a team in our nation’s capital,” the former secretary of state said. “I would love to see the owners think hard about what they could substitute …”

When asked if she could think of a more suitable name than “Redskins” or what she’d change it to, she said she hadn’t.

“No. No. I haven’t thought a lot about that,” she said.

With the growing opposition to the team name and the demands for it to be changed, it seems like only a matter of time before it is. But while the Redskins continue to stand strong on the name, the franchise gets dragged through the mud.
