Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton is either sick of the media or really afraid of facing Ndamukong Suh on Sunday.

More from Carolina Panthers

During his Wednesday press conference, Newton answered just about every question asked of him with some variation of the following:

"My main focus is the Detroit Lions. I think I’ve got my hands full trying to stay protected by Donkey Kong Suh and my former Auburn teammate Nick Fairley.”"

Watch the strange interview sequence below:

It’s not known why Newton did this/is angry at media members.

Newton isn’t the first NFL player we’ve seen do something of this nature this year. In fact, it appears Cam is taking a page out of Houston Texans running back Arian Foster’s playbook.

A sampling of the now-legendary Foster interview from July, courtesy of the Texans:

"(on his teammates needing him out in practice) “Yeah, man. When you’re the best teammate you can be you just work hard at doing that every single day, that’s what we’re out here trying to do.”(on if his body is breaking down) “Yeah, man. I’m just out here trying to be the best teammate I can be and I’m going to work hard at doing that.”"

These are both masterful troll jobs. Foster followed this performance up with a similar interview in August. It will certainly be interesting to see if Newton follows suit and gets back to this routine again sometime soon.
