Woodhead’s ankle isn’t in good shape following the injury and surgery will be needed to repair the damage. Accordin to FOX Sports insider Alex Marvez, season ending ankle surgery see,s to be the most likely route for Woodhead, which means the Chargers are three games into their 2014 season and already down a running back.

Ryan Mathews has been injury prone over the years, which has numbed Chargers fans to bad news about running backs but this injury to Woodhead still hurts. He was a sneaky part of the Chargers offense in 2013 and was growing his role even more in 2014.
