Joakim Noah is a player that NBA fans outside of Chicago love to hate, and he’s showing that fiery passion in the preseason by trying to fight Paul Pierce.

The NBA preseason is upon us, as the regular season is just around the corner at the end of the month. One team hoping to get a jump on the year are the Chicago Bulls, who have seemingly been frozen in carbonite like Han Solo since the 2011 season.

More from Chicago Bulls

Derrick Rose has basically missed two full seasons with noodle knees, the team has cycled through bench players since breaking up their Bench Mob and things haven’t been so peachy in the Windy City.

But with Rose back this season Pau Gasol and Nikola Mirotic part of the fun and the roster revamped, things are looking up. They’re also looking feisty as Joakim Noah has wasted absolutely no time in trying to fight Paul Pierce in a game that didn’t even count.

It’s not shocking, especially after watching that, to imagine why people hare Joakim Noah. He’s loud, he’s always animated and he’s obnoxious to watch. He’s also an All-Star center and the pulse of the Bulls franchise, which is why fans in Chicago love him so much.

Of course, there are plenty of hate out there for Noah, as you need not look any further than this hilarious video a fan made back in 2011 to see just how long the Noah hate has existed and how deep it runs.

Noah will no doubt be stellar again this season, especially with a frontcourt that now pairs him with Pau Gasol. It’s clear he’s ready for action too, as his swagger is already in midseason fighting form.
