By Cory Buck
When the Denver Broncos were assessed a false start penalty at the two-minute warning of their home game vs. the San Diego Chargers, Peyton Manning lost his cool on the field.

The Denver Broncos had a comfortable lead over the San Diego Chargers on Thursday Night Football with two minutes left in regulation, but don’t tell that to Peyton Manning, who had some choice words for loud fans and the scoreboard operator who Manning contends cost the Broncos five yards with their antics.
It starts with the sequence seen below. The whistle blows and the Broncos are called for false start after the home crowd got a little boisterous watching funny videos of Philip Rivers among others on the big board. Peyton Manning was less than amused, as seen below.
Manning was asked about his mini-tirade after the game and his explanation was as pointed and candid as his expletive-laden outburst appears.
Well, there you have it. The fans are fine, but that scoreboard operator needs to read over his playbook once more and learn his role. Oh, Peyton Manning, you are truly a gem.
Of course, one has to wonder what reaction a different quarterback might receive for that same interview. Some less popular lone wolf like Manning’s opponent, Philip Rivers, would have received a much stronger backlash it seems for swearing at fans during the game, then calling out the person responsible for pumping up said fans.
So goes the legend of Peyton Manning, whose maniacal competitiveness is offset by his ‘aw shucks’ demeanor.
The Broncos won the game 35-21 over the Chargers to move solely into first place.
