Taylor Swift Visits New York Knicks Practice (Photo)

Pop star Taylor Swift took time out of her busy schedule of knitting and being adorable to visit the New York Knicks, who took time out of practicing to take pictures with her.

The New York Knicks will be running the triangle offense this season and, the way Phil Jackson designed it, needs a top-notch scorer, a versatile power forward and back-to-the-basket big man. The Knicks only have one of those three, and are still searching for answers.

Taylor Swift visited the Knicks practice Sunday, and while she probably can’t throw an outlet pass or hit a hook shot, she definitely wore it better than Carmelo Anthony.

Swift, who recorded her upcoming album 1989 in New York (and you thought I was all sports), earned a bit of my respect here. I mean, she’s rocking the half sleeves and head band and chose that classic white Knicks jersey. She does basketball games better than Justin Bieber and Drake.

Side note: Have you ever noticed how young concert-goers tend to dress as the performer when they go to a show? Like how high school girls will dress as hippies every time the concert is outside. Or how they will dress like Taylor Swift when going to a Taylor Swift concert.

Even dudes will wear face paint to a Kiss show or ripped jeans to a punk concert. It’s just weird. It’s not like you wear a chef’s hat when you go out to dinner. Swift dressing like a basketball player as she goes to a basketball game/practice is just like that. 

Swift recording and attending basketball practices in New York helps make sense of why the Knicks chose “Shake It Off” as the official team song this year (not really). Especially when you give the lyrics a closer look.

What’s really strange about this though is Taylor Swift manages to just show up in random places all the time. Let’s see where else Taylor Swift randomly decided to show up.
