Jack Jablonski will lead a ‘stick tap for research’ during the Dallas StarsMinnesota Wild game

If you watch hockey games, you probably already know this.

Players who get hurt are given support from their teammates as they are taken off the ice through a ‘stick tap’, where the players tap their sticks on the ice (or, if they’re on the bench, along the boards) to rally for the fallen player.

Jack Jablonski knows this all too well- during a game in 2011, the former ice hockey star was injured during a hockey game himself.

Jablonski, now 18, has learned to adapt remarkably well. He announces games for the Minnesota Wild on Sports Radio 105 The Ticket, and started his own foundation- Bel13ve in Miracles Foundation- to raise awareness for spinal research.

He’s taking that foundation to the Wild-Stars game, though, and will lead in the largest hockey stick tap- world-wide.

The stick tap will take place during the game’s intermission, with Jablonski encouraging supporters to participate at home. You can tweet pictures or videos of your participation to the hashtag #StickTap2Hope, and watch either at the game or on TV as Jablonski’s Foundation will give a special presentation to raise awareness for spinal research. The presentation, called “a Night to Bel13eve”, will feature players from the US Miracle On Ice Olympic hockey team .
