Invicta FC 9 Results: Jamie Moyle Decisions Jenny Liou Shriver

In the second bout at Invicta FC 9, Jamie Moyle and Jenny Liou Shriver entered the cage at the RiverCenter in Davenport, Iowa for a strawweight bout.

Round 1: The bout opened up at a very fast pace, with Moyle being the early aggressor. Moyle was working her leg kicks, while Shriver was throwing some snapping counters. Shriver had the height and reach advantage, but Moyle’s movement was allowing her to move inside to land some quality strikes. Moyle grabbed the Thai clinch and was throwing knees to the body of Shriver before backing her against the cage. Shriver landed a right hand and separated, but Moyle kept the pressure on and continued to push the pace. Moyle was doing a great job at mixing up her strikes to the body and upstairs. Moyle was finding great success in the opening frame and was not giving Shriver any room to breathe. Round 2: Moyle opened up with a strong one-two before going back to the leg kicks, while Shriver was working to close the distance in an effort to drag the fight to the mat. Moyle separated with a heavy knee and threw a kick upstairs that seemed to stumble Shriver. Shriver went back to the clinch, but quickly found her back to the cage. Moyle was working some heavy knees to the body and Shriver seemed to be fading. Shriver landed a double-leg trip midway through the round, but Moyle reversed position and ended up on top after a scramble. Moyle quickly moved to half guard before passing to side control. Moyle opened up with some strong ground-and-pound. Shriver worked her way back to full guard before attacking an arm that put Moyle in danger. Moyle was able to move out of danger, before calling a brief halt to the action for an upkick to a grounded opponent. Shriver’s face was bloodied up after the exchange on the mat. Round 3: Shriver attempted to pull guard in the opening minute of the round, but was unsuccessful. As Shriver looked to clinch with Moyle, she ate some heavy knees to the head for her efforts. Shriver was able to land a takedown after eating the knees, but she quickly found herself in danger when Moyle threw up a triangle. Moyle used the triangle to sweep to top position where she worked for an armbar. Shriver threw up her legs and threw them around Moyle’s head to relieve pressure, but Moyle ducked out and once again went for Shriver’s right arm. Moyle gave up on the arm and went to full mount where she rained down some ground-and-pound. Moyle was all over Shriver, but Shriver landed an upkick and quickly scooted back to her feet. Shriver ate some more knees with the fight back on the feet, before spinning through for a heel hook. Moyle rolled out of danger.
