You probably don’t watch an NFL game and focus much on which foot the punter is booting the ball away with, though if you did you’d probably notice the New England Patriots have routinely employed left footed punters.
Is that simply a matter of coincidence or is there something behind it?
The best man to answer the question would be Patriots head coach Bill Belichick who went above and beyond in regards to how he responded.
I hope you have a few hours to waste as you may need it to get through the long-winded topic.
Bill Belichick has never come across as a man of many words. Hell, often times at his press conferences you may not hear the New England Patriots head coach mutter more than a few words. Apparently if you get him and his cutoff hoodie behind a keyboard though he can’t shut up.
Seriously, how does one come up with such a response to a rather simple question? Do you employ left footed punters for a reason or not? If yes, quickly explain why and if you don’t suggest it’s simply a coincidence.
Belichick did neither as he seemingly suggested that it was both a coincidence and not a coincidence in the same paragraph, making an already confusing answer even more perplexing.
Clearly, Bill Belichick is that guy at the party you really wish you didn’t start a conversation with.
Hopefully next time Tom Brady hosts Saturday Night Live they’ll have him play Belichick in their Weekend Update skit with a similar type response.
