Seattle Seahawks cornerback Richard Sherman gave rare praise to New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

It was really the first time all season that an NFL quarterback was able to expose Richard Sherman and continue to attack him on Sunday when the New York Giants did it. Eli Manning continued to throw to rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. who finished the day with seven catches for 108 yards on the All-Pro quarterback.

“Beckham is a great player,” Sherman said after the game per the New York Daily . “So they had to depend on him and take risks and take shots in games like this. He was able to get one earlier, which was a great play by him.”

Odell Beckham Jr.’s best play on the day came on a 44-yard grab where he beat Richard Sherman down the sideline and made the impressive catch.

Odell Beckham Jr. is the first Giants rookie receiver with back-to-back 100-yard outings since Byron Williams in 1983. Despite missing his first four games of the season, Beckham Jr. is becoming one of the more impressive offensive rookies. In five games, Beckham Jr. has 25 receptions for 370 yards and three touchdowns.

Richard Sherman hasn’t been one to give out praise ever since declaring himself the best cornerback in the league when he shut down Michael Crabtree in last years NFL playoff game against the San Fransisco 49ers. This short bout of praise may just be due to the fact that Sherman was finally beat by a wide receiver continuously. Don’t expect this to continue for Richard Sherman.
