Northwestern Goes Nuts After Getting Chick-fil-A After Beating Notre Dame (Video)
Pat Fitzgerald led the Northwestern Wildcats to an upset win over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday evening but the players seemed just as excited about their postgame meal from Chick-fil-A than the win at Notre Dame
19 years after Pat Fitzgerald led the Wildcats to an historic upset over the heavily-favored Fighting Irish as the top linebacker in the nation, Northwestern’s head coach returned to Notre Dame Stadium and pulled off another upset over Notre Dame.

The players celebrated with each other on the field after Jack Mitchell kicked the game-winning field goal in overtime moments after he forced overtime with his kick at the end of regulation. Coaches hugged one another and the emotion was evident when you heard “Coach Fitz” speak after the win as Northwestern remained alive for a postseason bowl.
Now when you think of postgame celebrations after a huge upset win, what goes through your mind?
Perhaps you think of a crowded bar scene with players toasting one another while attractive young coeds keep them company. Perhaps you think of a raging in an off campus residence where the music is blaring and the beverages are flowing.
That may have happened for the victorious Wildcats on Saturday night, but what we do know happened is that Northwestern celebrated with some delicious Chick-fil-A and based on the reactions from this video, they were almost as happy about feasting on their chicken sandwich and waffle fries as they were with the win over Notre Dame.
I have the same reaction when I go to Chick-fil-A and order my spicy chicken sandwich with their special Chick-fil-A sauce on the side and a large order of waffle fries. Sometimes I’ll add some nuggets as well with the Polynesian sauce, but the hardest decision of them all is deciding between the lemonade or one of their ridiculously delectable milk shakes, so I don’t blame for the NU players being so darn excited.
