Brett Hundley nearly left UCLA last year for the NFL draft and could have been a first or second round pick so it should come as no surprise that the Bruins quarterback announced on Monday that he’s likely headed to the NFL after this season

Hundley appeared on the Jim Rome Show on Monday to talk about the win over USC and his future with the Bruins.

"“There’s a really good chance that was my last game against USC. The conversation keep coming up. I’ve got my degree. I’ve done everything I wanted to do here. I’ve left something really, truly great, and I feel good. That’s probably my last one against USC.”"

Hundley entered the season as a Heisman candidate and UCLA as a preseason favorite to win the Pac-12 and make it to the College Football Playoff, but he got lost in the shuffle after the Bruins had a slow start, he missed most of the Texas win with an injury and was all but eliminated from consideration after two home losses in the middle of the season.

Not only is Hundley back in the mix for the Heisman after throwing for 326 yards and three touchdowns while adding another score on the ground in the 38-20 win over rival USC, but he has the Bruins in contention for the Pac-12 south title and a rematch against Marcus Mariota and Oregon in the Pac-12 Championship Game.

Hundley leads the nation with a 72.0 completion percentage and ranks sixth with his 160.51 quarterback rating. For the season, Hundley has 20 touchdowns to only five interceptions and 2,873 yards.

He likely will slot somewhere in the middle of the first round to top of the second round depending on postseason workouts at the combine and at UCLA’s pro day. He is far from a finished product but has a lot of tools for a quarterbacks coach and offensive coordinator to work with.
