The Tennessee Titans are content with rookie quarterback Zach Mettenberger, and won’t draft another QB high in the draft.

Zach Mettenberger was drafted with the 178th overall pick by the Tennessee Titans, and they seem to be very content with what they saw from him this year. He slipped that far in the draft due to a torn ACL that he suffered late in the season at LSU, and it appears that the Titans believe that he could be their long-term option at quarterback.

He has played in seven regular season games this year, and ended up throwing for 1,412 yards, eight touchdowns, and seven interceptions. Those numbers aren’t too impressive, but they’re not bad at all for a rookie that was taken in the sixth round. According to a report, the Titans don’t appear to be interested in drafting a quarterback with a high pick this offseason, and would rather see what Mettenberger can do next season.

At just 23 years of age, Mettenberger has a long carer ahead of him. He has the talent to become a solid starting quarterback, and the Titans would be smart to give him another year to prove himself.

There are plenty of holes for the Titans to fill in their roster, and quarterback is not even close to the top of the list. Tennessee should focus on improving on the defensive side of the football, and then looking at quarterback next season if they need to. That being said, if Marcus Mariota is available they should strong consider taking him.

Tennessee hasn’t been a legitimate playoff threat for quite a few years, and they are in desperate need of turning things around. It has been a painful recent history for their franchise. They need to begin moving forward at some point, and Mettenberger appears to be a guy that they believe can help them do just that.
