It is being heavily reported at this point that the University of Michigan will announce former San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh as the new head coach of the Wolverines on Tuesday in a press conference. The school has apparently told its biggest boosters that the deal is all but completed and finalized. The contract is rumored to be for six years and around $48 million.

So what are students and fans alike planning to do about this? Well, Tuesday also happens to be basketball day in Ann Arbor. And apparently the kids at Michigan have taken notice of Harbaugh’s trademark khakis; so much so that they are planning to wear them in droves in honor of their alleged new head football coach. When the team takes the court against the Illinois Fighting Illini at 3:00 PM tomorrow, a sea of Dockers should be expected.

Harbaugh is no stranger to the UM life. He famously played under center for the school before establishing a relatively solid NFL career. And although his run in the professional scene appears to be done (for now), his track record from his time with the University of San Diego and Stanford more than speaks for itself. He helped turn both programs around, and in his final year at the latter, his team went 12-1, including an Orange Bowl victory over Virginia Tech to go along with the #4 final ranking in both the AP and coaches polls.
