The Nets, Hornets and Thunder are dusting off trade talks that could see Brook Lopez and Lance Stephenson on new teams in the near future.

It hasn’t been that great of a season for Lance Stephenson in Charlotte, as he hasn’t helped the Hornets to much more than daily basketball sorrows while the team is locked into his bad contract for as long as they possess it. That may not be for much longer though, as the Hornets, Nets and Thunder are all talking about a three-way trade that would change up rosters in both conferences.

According to ESPN.com, the Nets, Hornets and Thunder are discussing a three-way trade that would see Brook Lopez head to Oklahoma City and Lance Stephenson head up to Brooklyn. For their part in the trade, the Nets would receive  draft picks and financial compensation to make the deal work.

"The Brooklyn Nets, Charlotte Hornets and Oklahoma City Thunder are involved in discussions about a three-way trade that would send Brooklyn playground legend Lance Stephenson to his hometown team, according to league sources."

This is Chris Broussard talking though, so let’s take it all with a grain of salt for now. But the rumors that the Nets have been trying to move Lopez have been heating up as of late, and the Hornets have been ready to dump Stephenson since November.

According to Chris Mannix from SI.com, the Thunder would have to include Kendrick Perkins in any deal they make.

If the Thunder acquire Lopez, it will be the second trade in under a month that they’ve made as they swapped a first-round pick to land Dion Waiters in a three-way deal with the Knicks and Cavaliers. Landing Lopez would mean the Thunder have totally changed not only their roster this season but their fortunes as well. He’s not perfect player anymore, but putting Lopez at the disposal of Scott Brooks gives the Thunder one of the strongest rosters in all of basketball moving forward.
