Julian Edelman possibly could have suffered a concussion, but was not tested for one.

After completing a pass from Tom Brady on a third and long for a first down, New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman seemed to take a hard helmet-to-helmet his from Seattle Seahawks defensive back Cam Chancellor.

Edelman fell to the ground, but immediately bounced back up and ran to try to continue the play, but he was ruled downed by contact.

Edelman did get up very quickly and seemed okay while he was running after the hit. Edelman even made another great catch and run later in the same drive. However, Edelman seemed to struggle to get up as he crawled on the ground for a bit before slowly getting up and walking back to the huddle.

According to Dave Birkett, there were radio calls asking for the medical personnel on the field to check Edelman for a concussion.

That request was not fulfilled.

It’s possible that it was his hip that was bothering Edelman and not any issue with his head. Still, after a hit like that, you would think they’d want to at least quick check out Edelman for a concussion.

In any event, Edelman was able to stay in the game and seems okay, which is good news for the Patriots.
