The Madden NFL 15 Super Bowl simulation was frighteningly accurate.
Every year the folks at EA Sports release their Super Bowl simulation, and they’re pretty solid at predicting the outcome. Typically they correctly predict the winner of the game.
This year, they did a whole lot more than predict the winner.

The Madden NFL 15 Super Bowl simulation accurately predicted a frightening number of details.
The Madden sim had the Seahawks going on a run in second half to take a 24-14 lead over New England in the third quarter.
They also had Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman catching the winning touchdown pass. If that isn’t bizarre enough, Madden predicted the EXACT pass play that gave the Patriots the game-winning score.
Then the Madden simulation predicted the final score, a Patriots win over the Seahawks 28-24. And maybe the least shocking detail they accurately predicted, was Patriots quarterback Tom Brady being named Super Bowl MVP.
Still, the fact that they predicted such a scary amount of specific details speaks volumes of how realistic video games are getting.
For next year’s Super Bowl we might have to play closer attention to the Madden sim and place some bets on the game.
