The NFL Season is over, and while the New England Patriots celebrate their Super Bowl victory the rest of the league is plotting how to overthrow them.
Now that the NFL season is over and done with, the offseason is going to be a place where the teams who didn’t make it to the top of the mountain.

Those teams are going to be looking at ways to get better either through brining back star players, acquiring them in trades or making moves to sign them in the offseason. The NFL offseason is one of the most exciting times of the year and it’s a time in which fans both get excited about the upcoming season and consider their past and how quickly things can fall apart.
Here’s a look at the important offseason dates that you’ll probably want to pay attention to if you care about your team:
- Feb. 16:Â First day for clubs to designate franchise or transition players.
- Feb. 17-23:Â NFL Scouting Combine, Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis
- March 2:Â Deadline (before 4 p.m. ET) for clubs to designate franchise or transition players.
- March 10:Â 2015 league year and free agency period begin at 4 p.m. ET. All clubs must be under the 2015 salary cap before 4 p.m. ET.
- March 22-25:Â Annual meeting, Phoenix
- April 24:Â Deadline for restricted free agents to sign offer sheets
- April 29:Â Deadline for prior club to exercise right of first refusal to restricted free agents.
- April 30-May 2:Â NFL draft, Chicago
- May 8-11:Â First weekend after draft: Clubs may elect to hold their three-day post-draft rookie mini-camp from Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday.
- May 15-18:Â Second weekend after draft: Clubs may elect to hold their three-day post-draft rookie mini-camp from Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday.
- May 18-20:Â NFL spring league meeting, San Francisco
- June 21-27:Â Rookie Symposium, Aurora, Ohio.
The NFL offseason is something that all fans are going to look forward to and it’s a time of year in which anything can happen and hope springs eternal.
