Which five free agents make the most sense for the Green Bay Packers to target?

The Green Bay Packers are still fresh off of their embarrassing collapse in the NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks, but they don’t have long to dwell on what went wrong.

Despite the tough end to the season, the Packers cannot afford to whiff on the upcoming offseason. There are still a few holes that they will need to fill in order to have a shot at the Super Bowl next season. At this point in time they appear to be just a move or two away from being favorites in the NFC.

More from Green Bay Packers

It is going to be a very crucial offseason for the Packers, and there are quite a few different options for them on the market.

Obviously names like Julius Thomas and Ndamukong Suh jump into mind, but the Packers likely won’t be interested in breaking the bank for them. Both the tight end and defensive line positions are big needs for Green Bay, but there are plenty of talented second-tier options for them.

There are five players in particular that would fit Green Bay’s system very well, and would be affordable options for them. Ted Thompson can’t afford to stand pat and simply keep the team together this offseason, and he’ll need to be aggressive in order to improve some of the needs that they have.
