TNT analyst and former NBA great Shaquille O’Neal is packing 12 suits for the four-day extravaganza that is NBA All-Star Weekend.

When gearing up for one of the busiest stretches of the year with ‘Inside the NBA’ Shaq isn’t about to mess around. When it’s time to suit up, Shaq plans to have options, and then more options on top of those options. And then even more options on those–OK, you get the point. Shaq likes suits.

“You have to bring four suits, and then you have to bring four more and then you have to bring four more just in case,” Shaq said per USA Today. “So you got bring 12 suits for four days. And you have to bring a lot of tickets to give out to a lot of fans. We just have fun.”

Fun is the overriding word as it pertains to All-Star weekend. While the preparation may be hell for those who cover the event, the actual All-Star weekend is a walk in the park for Shaq and his buds on one of the best sports desks in broadcast television.

“It’s our hardest weekend of the year,” Charles Barkley said of All-Star weekend. “This is the only time we’re on four days in a row. But it’s a big event for us.”

Joining Shaq and Barkley, as usual, are Kenny Smith and Ernie Johnson, who also have to suit up, though there’s no word on whether they’re coming as stacked with suits as the Diesel. At the very least, they’re ready for another busy weekend.

“You go into it knowing this is fun and games, there’s nothing really riding on this,” Johnson said. “It’s all designed as an appreciation and thank you for the fans.”

Kenny Smith also noted that the chemistry between anchors keeps the show running itself even as the script dries up during a low-intensity event like the All-Star game.

“We’re competitively argumentative,” Smith said. “So it’s like who’s right about who’s going to win the MVP, who’s right about who’s going to win the dunk contest. I think all of us are fans trying to be good at the sport.”

We may not know who will win the arguments, or even the All-Star game, and we probably don’t care. What we do know is that Shaq is yours odds-on favorite to win the day in the fashion department.
