Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook keeps on proving the fact that teammates are only optional in his world.

It’s become one of those stretches for Oklahoma City Thunder guard Russell Westbrook.

A stretch that’s seen him pile up four straight triple-doubles, the most since Michael Jordan did it. This is a remarkable stretch that reminds us of the “he’s on fire” call from the nameless play-by-play man in NBA Jam.

Tonight, Westbrook lead his team into Chicago to take on the battered Bulls, looking for his fifth-straight triple-double.

Late in the third-quarter he decided to remind us once again why teammates are unnecessary as he took one coast to coast:

Westbrook took a mini-outlet pass in stride, then turned on his famous jets as the United Center was privy to witness his recent magic.

The man finished with a strong right while splitting two Bulls defenders, one was a big.

As far as his quest for five-straight triple-doubles is concerned, Westbrook is currently saddled with 40 points, five rebounds and seven assists. More importantly though, his Thunder have the lead over the Bulls, 100-97, with just over two-minutes to go.

While individual accomplishments are nice, the Thunder haven’t been tearing it up as of late. If Westbrook were to lead his team to more wins, then real accolades will start to be thrown his direction.
