The Oakland Raiders were hoping to make some big moves in free agency, but it looks like signing Greg Hardy won’t be one of them.

You know you must have done some bad things when even the Oakland Raiders don’t want you.

Soon-to-be 27-year-old defensive wrecking ball and former Carolina Panther Greg Hardy needs to find a new team for the upcoming season, and he can cross the Raiders off his list of potential teams (if he even had them on it).

According to Scott Bair of Comcast Sportsnet Bay Area, Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie said that the team has no intentions of signing the defensive end.

Hardy would have been one of the bigger free-agent signings this offseason, had he not had any off-the-field issues, but the world is never a perfect place. Hardy only played one game last year after he was put on the commissioners exempt list – just like Adrian Peterson – for his domestic violence case.

Although Hardy’s charges were dropped in February when his former girlfriend and victim of the case refused to cooperate after reaching a settlement with Hardy,  the former Panther is still waiting the league’s decision on what will happen to him next year.

Some type of suspension seems definite, and a six-game suspension appears likely since the league made that their policy for first-time domestic violence cases last year.

Regardless of what type of suspension he gets, Hardy will be an amazing (on the field) addition to any team that will drastically change their defense. In his last two full seasons, Hardy had a total of 26 sacks and three forced fumbles.

Yesterday, Hardy’s agent came out and said that at least six teams are interested in his client and that he has already begun contract negotiations with one team.

Everyone deserves a second chance.
