After high-fiving and celebrating with some children that were present playing basketball, Obama trips over a small child that was seated on the pavement behind him. He realizes what had happened right away and turns around to check if the little girl is okay. It seems like she is fine, and Obama straightens himself out and seemingly goes onto continue the game.
There have been more embarrassing moments in presidential history, but this moment of physical comedy beckons back to the Ford era. Which is somewhat surprising in this age of smart phone cameras being everywhere, that we don’t get more moments like this. Perhaps Obama’s long legs would not lend themselves to being as clumsy as one would think.
It looks like no harm, no foul as no one is seriously injured. Which goes along with Obama’s reputation on the court as he is not known as a dirty player, he’s more of a spot-up shooter.
