Paul George donates $10k for a young fan’s wheelchair van
Indiana Pacers forward Paul George donates $10,000 to help a local family purchase a wheelchair van for their daughter.
Another positive story from the world of sports, guys! See, they really do exist.
Paul George, Pacers forward and all-around good guy, donated $10,000 to help a local family purchase a much needed wheelchair van for their daughter Daisy Esterline. Daisy, who happens to be a big Pacers fan, is living with cerebral palsy.
Her family has been using a GoFundMe page to raise donations to purchase a wheelchair van to help Daisy travel around with ease. After Daisy’s father, Howard, tweeted a link to the Pacers’ player, George replied with a generous donation of $10,000 and a special note to Daisy which read: “Keep fighting daisy I am with you!”
Thanks to George’s donation, as well as an additional, anonymous donation of $6,000, Daisy’s mother said that the family should be able to purchase the vehicle soon.

This is not the first time George and Daisy have interacted. The two first met nearly a year and a half ago when he visited the young fan at a children’s hospital in Indianapolis. She must have made quite an impression on the NBA player.
It’s great to see wealthy athletes like George put their money to good use. The money that could buy George a new watch or a trip abroad will instead be used to help this young girl move around with ease. What a gift for Daisy and the Esterline family.
