Urban Meyer throws out first pitch at Yankees game (Video)
Before the New York Yankees took on the Baltimore Orioles, Ohio State football coach Urban Meyer threw out the first pitch just two days after having an appendectomy.
Appendectomy Wednesday, first pitch Friday.
After coming off the first ever College Football Playoff Championship, Ohio State coach Urban Meyer threw out the first pitch at Yankee Stadium before the Yankees took on the Baltimore Orioles Friday night.
This is made even more impressive after you remember that he just had an appendectomy on Wednesday.
However, being a little sore and just having come off being cut open didn’t stop the Buckeyes coach from taking the mound in the holy grail of baseball.
He even went all the way out to the mound despite being fresh off surgery.
However, he kept his body pretty straight without putting any twists or torque into it.
Even better, he made the throw all the way to the plate. An appendectomy may not be too serious of a surgery, but to do any physical activity just two days after surgery is incredible and speaks to the work ethic of Meyer.
Hopefully none of his players need an emergency appendectomy any time soon, or Meyer might expect them back sooner than later.
You don’t win a national championship as a coach without leading by example first.
Way to go Urban.
