The Cleveland Cavaliers need to make sure they stay as healthy as possible, and friendly fire can’t be allowed to happen like it was on Sunday night.

The absolute last thing the Cleveland Cavaliers need is to suffer another major injury, as they’ve managed to somehow survive one and are flirting with another. Kevin Love is gone for the entire postseason and Kyrie Irving has missed two straight games with a foot injury.

Cleveland almost had to add big man Timofey Mozgov to that list thanks to an incident in pregame warmups with Tristan Thompson.

In pregame warmups, Timofey Mozgov got posterized by Tristan Thompson and his reward was a bloody nose.

Given the nature of the Cavaliers roster right now, they can’t really afford any more injuries. Kevin Love is already out, Kyrie Irving is banged up and missing games and Cleveland needs to make sure all hands are on deck for a run at the NBA Finals.

If the Cavaliers were to lose Mozgov, it would cripple their already suspect defense. Just remember how sketchy the Cavaliers defense has been with Mozgov and remind yourself of how awful it was without him. That’s the last thing the Cavaliers need and they’re skating on thin ice as far as avoiding the injury bug.

Thankfully, Mozgov was alright and he was able to play in Game 3 but this is a reminder of how fragile a team’s status is this late in the season. Anything, including pregame warmups, can be dangerous to your hopes of winning the NBA Finals.
