Stephen Curry is already being labeled one of the greatest shooters of all-time, but Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr reminded his star point guard that he is a legendary shooter himself.

With a legendary sharpshooter in Steve Kerr is coaching Stephen Curry, another truly great shooter of all-time, it is only fitting that the pair had a shooting competition.

The contest between the Golden State Warriors head coach and his MVP point guard took place at the charity stripe, as it should have. Both are among the best free-throw shooters in NBA history. Curry has the third-best career free-throw percentage in NBA history, and Kerr finished his 15-year playing career at 86.4 percent, although he doesn’t qualify for the all-time list.

With such prolific shooters going head-to-head, this was no ordinary free-throw contest. Made shots that hit the rim were only worth one point, while a perfect swish was worth two.

Here is the video of the competition:

As if anything else was expected, the game was on the line as Kerr launched the final shot, down by one point. The result was a swish — nothing but net, and the 49-year old sprinted across the gym in celebration. Curry turned away, smiling in disbelief before congratulating Kerr on the victory.

If there is going to be a rematch between the Warriors’ star player and their head coach, it has take place from behind the 3-point line. After all, Kerr holds the NBA’s record for career 3-point percentage at an astonishing 45.4 percent.

Curry is not far behind at 44 percent, and I’m sure he would love to avenge the loss by challenging his coach to a contest at his own specialty.

As for now, Kerr will be definitely be holding bragging rights in the Warriors locker room.
