Shaq is hilarious playing Mortal Kombat (video)
Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith constantly provide hilarious hijinks for viewers of TNT’s Inside the NBA, and their recent contest of Mortal Kombat did not fail to impress.
Shaquille O’Neal and Kenny Smith are great together on TNT, always finding a way to get each other and the fans to laugh. In a game of Mortal Kombat between the two, things reached another level.
Smith gets the festivities started with a playful slap to the back of Shaq’s head just before the game begins. Apparently this displeased O’Neal, who menacingly glares into the camera.
This would be the first of many great facial expressions and other antics to come during the Mortal Kombat showdown between the former NBA champions and current Inside the NBA co-hosts.
Here is the video:
Ironically, one of the most imposing physical specimens in NBA history chose a small character to play with for all three rounds, Jason Vorhees. Smith on the other hand, changed up his fighter each time, and ended up beating Shaq with a final score of 2-1.
This was not about who won and who lost, however; it is about the hilarious antics that we have grown to expect from these two.
Smith begins complaining about his controller being broken around the one-minute mark when he begins to lose a round, a notion that Shaq quickly dismisses. As funny as Smith can be, though, the legendary big man was the star of the show, mainly due to him appearing to lose his mind in reaction to the brutal violence of the video game.
Here are just a few of the classic reactions:
Shaq and Kenny would have many other great moments throughout the competition, including O’Neal referring to his character as Pacquiao, and constant back-and-forth banter throughout.
Fittingly, the sequence ends with Smith celebrating his victory by pummeling Shaq into the wall, with a signature Mortal Kombat “finish him” move.
