Wisconsin star Sam Dekker rose to fame in the NCAA Tournament, and he secured a place in the first-round of NBA Draft. The Houston Rockets ended up taking him with the No. 18 overall pick, but before his career can start he still needs to tie up some loose ends at home.

Some players celebrate being first-round draft picks by going out and partying, taking a trip overseas to take a quick break or they return home and do house chores.

Sam Dekker falls under the latter category, as he went from being drafted in New York on Thursday to back home in Wisconsin doing work around the house.

As Sam Dekker’s mom posted a picture to Twitter of her son mowing the lawn, NBA career be damned.

Sam Dekker’s NBA career is still up in the air, but you can’t question his work ethic. The Rockets have to love this, as he’s not only staying out of danger but he’s technically training as well. If nothing else, this is humbling to show us that these kids may be millionaire NBA players now, but not even they can talk their way out of mowing the lawn.
