It’s a full fantasy baseball night with all 30 teams in action under the lights tonight. As you put together your team for daily league action or decide which players to put in your season-long lineup, getting the right starting pitchers in place is key to your success. To help you find the right starter in the right matchup check out my starting pitcher rankings on the following slides.

As I usually do, I’ve divided today’s options in to stay-away options, scary options, sleeper options, solid starter options, and star options. Included under each player is a quick synopsis of why they are ranked where they are in today’s starting pitcher rankings.

If you are interested in checking out a daily fantasy baseball format, you can get started by clicking the box to the right for a link to FanDuel which is one of many sites that offer daily fantasy baseball.   Especially in FanDuel’s format with only a single starting pitcher, getting the right starter at the right price can make all the difference between taking home some cash and leaving disappointed. However you decide to play today, hopefully my rankings help find success.

I always enjoy reader feedback and welcome your opinion as well on the bottom of the page in the comments or on Twitter @FansidedFantasy.  You can find all our ongoing coverage  on our fantasy baseball hub where we’ll be posting new rankings all week long as well as the best batter vs pitcher matchups to target for each day (today’s top 10 here).

Let’s jump into today’s starting pitcher rankings for all 30 probable pitchers:

Stay-away Options

7. Duffy has only made one start since a month off for his shoulder injury, and in that one start he gave up eight hits in 4.2 innings in Seattle.  Running him out against an improving and power-packed Astros lineup isn’t the best plan for tonight.. Kansas City Royals. @ Astros. Danny Duffy. 30. player

82. Latos has allowed five runs or more in three of his last five starts and his ERA for the season is 5.49.  Even though he offers nice strikeout numbers, I’d look elsewhere tonight especially since he is 1-3 with a 7.60 ERA in his seven home starts this season.. Miami Marlins. vs Giants. Mat Latos. 29. player

@ Diamondbacks. Carlos Frias. 28. player. 71. After a pair of rough outings, Frias rebounded by throwing five shutout innings against the Cubs despite giving up seven hits. The win he picked up leveled his record at 5-5, but he seems to be wearing down a bit and has given up 35 his this month in just 29 innings while going 1-3 with a 4.34 ERA. . Los Angeles Dodgers

Erasmo Ramirez. 27. player. 21. Ramirez is somehow 6-2 despite a 4.23 ERA.  He only allowed two hits in three scoreless innings before leaving his last start which also came against the Indians but had to leave with a groin injury. He has been decent, but his injury makes him iffy for today.. Tampa Bay Rays. vs Indians
