DeAndre Jordan and the Clippers have been relaxing and playing cards after their free agency meeting on Wednesday.

The Wednesday before NBA teams can officially sign free agents has been anything other than mundane or predictable, but as of now all signs point to DeAndre Jordan spurning the Dallas Mavericks and returning to the Los Angeles Clippers.

Jordan’s decision to stay in Los Angeles comes five days after he reportedly had chosen to go to the Mavericks. In the following days, doubts crept into Jordan’s mind and he began to contemplate his decision. As the free agency moratorium began to near it’s end, though, he allowed the Clippers to swoop in and have another shot.

Apparently it didn’t take long for the likes of Doc Rivers, Blake Griffin, Chris Paul, Steve Ballmer and JJ Redick to convince Jordan to stay. According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, the meeting was short-lived and then the group made way for some leisure time:

Not only were they playing cards, but according to Ramona Shelburne from ESPN Los Angeles, the Clippers contingency was kicking it playing video games as well.

Patty Hearst eat your heart out, this is Stockholm Syndrome at it’s finest.

That this group of athletes and personnel have had social media and the sports world buzzing for almost an entire day and they are laid back playing Old Maid is never not going to be amazing to me. It’s also yet another indication that the Clippers are indeed going to be where Jordan is playing basketball next season. You don’t tell a group that you plan to leave them and then shuffle the deck.

With multiple reports and now 52 cards in their favor, the Clippers have retained their big man. As for the Mavericks; well, go fish.
