Wilmer Flores found out about his potential trade to the Brewers from the Mets fans that were sitting in the stands

Wednesday night we saw one of the more surreal moments of the entire baseball season, as New York Mets shortstop Wilmer Flores broke down in the middle of the game. He broke down because he knew it was going to be the last time he was at Citi Field as a member of the Mets, as he was maybe part of the trade that brought Carlos Gomez to New York from the Brewers.

Of course, as we would come to find out, the deal actually would never be taking place.

Now you might be wondering who actually broke the news to him at the time. Was it one of his teammates? Was it manager Terry Collins?

Actually, it wasn’t any of the above. In actuality, as Flores explained after the game, it was Mets fans themselves that informed him he was on the move.

Wow, that makes this whole ordeal just that much more odd. To have to hear from the fans that you’re potentially being traded is something out of this world, especially because you have to wonder whether you can believe them or not.

Either way, he found out and he ended up giving us one of the more sad visuals in 2015 in sports.

And now for the best part of all this, it seems as if he might not end up being traded after all.
