Week 3 Most Valuable Player

Aaron Rodgers, QB Green Bay Packers

The Kansas City Chiefs never stood a chance.

Aaron Rodgers is virtually unbeatable at Lambeau Field, and he took things to another level with a special performance on Monday. The reigning NFL MVP threw five touchdown passes while completing 24 of his 35 passes, and only the mercy of a massive lead kept Rodgers from compiling even more than his 333 passing yards.

Making matters worse for the Chiefs, their own signal-caller (Alex Smith) offered a sub-optimal performance that only served to highlight the brilliance of Rodgers. On this night, he had a gimpy running back (Eddie Lacy) and lost his number two wide receiver (Devante Adams) to injury. Simply put, it didn’t matter. Rodgers was nearly perfect on this night, and he was more than worthy to be crowned as the Week 3 MVP.

It must be said that Tom Brady (who is anointed as the runner-up below) was in serious contention for a three-peat performance, but given the difference in opponent between Jacksonville and Kansas City, Rodgers takes the crown. “Touchdown Tommy” can’t win every week.

Runner-up: Tom Brady, QB New England Patriots
