Dallas Keuchel was a genius on the mound during the Astros’ wild-card win and after on Twitter

The Houston Astros went into Yankee Stadium on Tuesday night and handed the New York Yankees an emphatic postseason loss in their wild-card matchup. That was in large part due to the efforts of Astros ace Dallas Keuchel, who pitched six shutout innings against the Yanks. However, he saved his best work for Twitter after the Astros’ win.

Before the game even began, some troll on Twitter by the name of “Bill Smith” mentioned Keuchel and apologized for the Astros having to lose to the Yankees. Smith then wished Keuchel and Houston “better luck next year.” Keuchel quoted the tweet and had this to say after the game was played:

I don’t know how Keuchel found or kept track of that tweet, but we should all be glad that he did. The Houston pitcher hit a troll with the perfect response in the perfect moment. Even Nas would applaud that type of ether being thrown out by Keuchel.

There’s a fine line between being petty and being entertaining; this certainly falls in the latter category. If someone shows up in your mentions before the game is even played talking crap like that, they deserve to get owned. Keuchel put Mr. Smith in the corner.
