The New York Mets are set to knock off the favored Chicago Cubs after sneaking past the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The New York Mets came away with a narrow Game 5 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers to advance to the National League Championship Series. They will face the Chicago Cubs, who also prevailed as underdogs over the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Cubs enter the NLCS as favorites to win the World Series, but the Mets proved that they are not a team to take lightly. They will have to prove that they can overcome the Cubs though. During the regular season they were unable to win a single game against them in the regular season with an 0-7 head-to-head record, so winning the NLCS will be harder than it seems.

However, the Mets have gotten hot at the right time and have plenty of ammunition to knock off the Cubs. They have made various changes to their roster since losing to the Cubs, all of which came relatively early in the regular season, and every baseball fan knows that the playoffs are a whole new season and do not reflect anything that happened in the regular season.

Here are five reasons why the Mets will win the National League pennant and punch their ticket to the World Series.
