The Tulsa Shock had quite the tumultuous season. They started out red hot, going 8-1 to start the season. Then everything fell apart in the span of just a few weeks. Skylar Diggins tore her ACL, ownership announced they were moving the team from Tulsa at the end of the season, and they went into a tailspin, losing 10 straight games. But just like that, things turned right around, as they rattled off six straight wins to clinch a playoff berth for the first time since the franchise moved to Tulsa. It would also be their last.

The Tulsa Shock are officially no more, as this morning the franchise announced the team’s new name: the Dallas Wings.

The announcement was held at the College Park Center on the campus of the University of Texas-Arlington, which is where the Wings will play their home games, according to the Dallas Morning News.

I’m not really sure about the team being named the Wings, but that logo is pretty sweet. I’m also extremely down for that color scheme.

Anyways, regardless of what you think about the new name or the logo or the colors, there’s no question that the future is very bright for Dallas’ newest franchise.
