The first blockbuster trade of the MLB off-season has arrived, as the Atlanta Braves sent dynamic shortstop Andrelton Simmons to the Los Angeles Angels.

The first blockbuster trade of the off-season is finally here for the MLB!

It’s a big one too, as the Atlanta Braves have sent stud shortstop Andrelton Simmons to the Los Angeles Angels, according to Jesse Sanchez.

The Braves have been rumored all week, to have been listening on deals on Simmons, but were have said to have been asking for a big price in return. And did they ever get a monster package in return, as they received some pieces to be excited about in return.

According to Joel Sherman, the Atlanta Braves in return will receive the Angels’ top pitching prospect, Sean Newcomb, along with another pitching prospect in Chris Ellis and major league shortstop, Erick Aybar.

Without a doubt, this is a huge trade for both sides. For the Angels, they are arguably getting the best defensive glove in the game as they try to contend for a World Series next season. Adding a big play ability guy in Simmons makes their defense even more lethal and will provide a boost to every pitcher who takes the mound too. His bat is coming along, so if that improves, the Angels are going to have an incredible lineup.

As for the Braves, they continue to tear down and add more talented prospects to the pipeline. In getting Newcomb and Ellis, the Braves are adding two more dynamic young pitching prospects that they can watch grow and hopefully one day soon see them excel in the big leagues.

This could very well be the first domino to fall in the MLB’s off-season. With Simmons off the board, other teams might start begin making moves to help bolster their club.

The hot stove is getting hot!
