San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker isn’t afraid of many things, but he showed that he was scared of lion cubs while playing with one at the San Antonio Zoo.

There isn’t much that scares four-time NBA Champion point guard Tony Parker. The San Antonio Spurs guard is quite famous for never backing down from a challenge and remaining remarkably calm while under pressure. If he’s scared of anything, he almost never shows it. Parker showed that one of the few things that he is afraid of could be lions. He was playing with a lion cub at the San Antonio Zoo when the lion cub swatted at him. Parker had a visible reaction.

Despite his reaction, Tony Parker says that he enjoyed the experience. He got to experience it because he won a charity auction to name three cubs. Sadly, he didn’t name any after Tim Duncan or his head coach Gregg Popovich. He named them TP (after himself), Axelle (after his wife), and Josh (after his son).

“It was pretty impressive,” Parker said, via NBA.com. “You worry since they’re lions, but after about 10 minutes, they felt more comfortable with me and I felt more comfortable, too. We wanted to give back to the zoo, and to have this experience too, it was just unbelievable.”

“Tony’s one of our best ambassadors for connecting people to the animals at the zoo,” said the San Antonio Zoo’s executive director Tim Morrow. “He’s always had a very high interest in the zoo, having someone like Tony supporting us makes a huge impact.”
