Green Bay Packers legend Brett Favre was at Lambeau Field to have his jersey retired on Thanksgiving Day.

Brett Favre is one of the most recognizable names in the history of the NFL. The legendary Green Bay Packers quarterback has held or holds almost every passing record known to man after playing 20 seasons in the league, 16 of them being spent with the Packers. On Thanksgiving Day 2015 as the Packers faced the rival Chicago Bears in primetime, Favre finally got his day in Lambeau Field as the team retired his No. 4 jersey.

At halftime of the game, the Packers held a ceremony to honor Favre’s accomplishments with the Packers and all that he brought to the team while he was the quarterback. It was a big moment in primetime for the gunslinger:

Favre’s accomplishments and records are numerous and undeniably impressive. Before Peyton Manning began catching him in recent years, Favre held the NFL records for career regular season passing touchdowns and career regular season passing yards, as well as owning the longest streak of consecutive games started in history at a remarkable 297 games.

More than just his overall career stats that led to him being a 13-time Pro Bowler, Favre also led the Packers to two consecutive NFC Championships in 1996-97 and victory in Super Bowl XXXI. Favre spent time with three other teams over his NFL career, but Favre playing in the NFL is synonymous with the Green Bay Packers.

For one of the most polarizing and prolific quarterbacks in NFL history to get his due from a team he gave so much is great to see. Congratulations to Favre.
