Dad names kid after Arsenal (Photo)

A father cleverly named his daughter after Arsenal FC only for his wife to find out 2 years later.

Soccer fans are the most passionate fans in the world, and that’s never more evident than this father who found a way to name his daughter after his favorite team. He named his kid “Lanesra,” or Arsenal backwards, but it took his wife two years to figure that out.

Lanesra’s a unique name and is a good fit for a newborn girl, so it’s not that big a surprise that his wife didn’t question it. Although her reaction once she found out must’ve been pretty priceless. Unsurprisingly, fellow Arsenal fans supported the father’s choice on social media once the photo started making rounds.

As soon as the photo went viral, other fans were quick to join in on it, with the Gunners’ biggest rivals perhaps getting in the best dig at the name:

There are few things that unite people together the way football does. Seeing sports cross over to the real world like this is always a joy to see, and I’m sure that even Chelsea and Manchester United fans think that Lanesra is adorable. But once his father raises her to support Arsenal, it’s going to be harder for her to make friends with fans of opposing teams.
