Draymond Green wants to do everything in his power to avoid the crying face of Michael Jordan.

The ubiquitous Micheal Jordan crying meme is something that Golden State Warriors power forward is trying to avoid. Here is Green making his stance clear on Thursday night following his All-Star reserve selection:

It’s common knowledge that when a public figure does something that is embarrassing the internet will explode and in an instant a troll will render the infamous image of the crying Michael Jordan on the face of whomever committed this act. No one is immune from this social media wrath. Draymond Green, however, wanted to ensure that he wasn’t the next victim by holding back tears after he was selected to his first NBA All-Star Game.

Keeping this effort going will be tough. In order to stay clear of it, he will have to play flawlessly for the rest of the season. And Draymond plays hard and boldly, so he is bound to do something to incur the meme’s wrath. I’m pulling for him, but it won’t be easy. While they do stand at an impressive 42-4, the Warriors still have remaining games against the likes of Oklahoma City and San Antonio, not to mention the talented teams they will inevitably take on in the postseason.

Going up against talented players like Russell Westbrook and Kawhi Leonard, Green is bound to slip, miss a bad shot, or trip. Any of these things can result in the Jordan crying face meme. It’s inevitable, Draymond. Just embrace the meme, no one can escape it. Internet culture is here to stay.

Just remember, you have a ring. That’s what matters.
