Here are five trades that the Chicago Blackhawks should make as they try to defend their Stanley Cup title from last season

The Chicago Blackhawks faced a tough off-season last year that saw them lose Kris Versteeg, Brandon Saad, Johnny Oduya, and Patrick Sharp, among others. Despite that, they currently find themselves in the thick of a playoff race and look to be the Western Conference favorites to make it to the Stanley Cup final.

The Blackhawks still have some notable holes that they will need to fill via the trade market if they want to win back-to-back Stanley Cups. Their defense is in desperate need for some help and their forward lines could stand to be upgraded. The Blackhawks will have their hands full as they try to do that since they are very close to being over the salary cap ceiling. However, anyone acquired in season has a pro-rated cap hit. That should give the Blackhawks a little bit of breathing room, but not much.

Who should the Blackhawks be trading for as they look to cement their status as a modern day dynasty? Here are five trades that they should make by the trade deadline on February 29th.
